Man Utd To Swap Pogba For Another Player

It appears that Mourinho is tired of the performance of France international, Pogba and he is ready to let him leave.

Manchester United are looking to offload Paul Pogba this summer, and could swap him for PSG midfielder Marco Verratti, according to the Independent .
The France international has failed to live up to his £89 million pricetag at Old Trafford, and may be set to leave United at the end of the season.
PSG’s Verratti is seen as a much better option in midfield by Jose Mourinho, whose relationship with Pogba has become strained.

Some Players Were Hiding – Lukaku Slams Manchester United Team-mates After 2-1 Loss To Sevilla

Manchester United striker, Romelu Lukaku, has accused some of his team-mates of ‘hiding’ during their 2-1 loss against Sevilla.

Romelu Lukaku has said some of his Manchester United teammate “were hiding” after the Champions League round-of-16 second leg defeat to Sevilla because of the disappointment, according to ESPN Sports.
The 2-1 loss at Old Trafford knocked United out of the competition, and the Belgian striker, who scored his side’s only goal, added that not enough was done to ensure their progression to the quarterfinals.
“Something was wrong with some players, some players were hiding,” Lukaku told BT Sport. “I think we started the game well, but then we let them get a bit of control in the game. We had a few half-chances but we didn’t score.
“Then they scored the first goal and from that moment on we tried to chase the game. Then they scored the second one which was a big blow. At the end we kept pushing, but it was not enough.
“We should have done much better today because with the quality that we have in the team, I think we should have gone through. But we didn’t deserve it because we weren’t good enough.
“We should have scored earlier, I think maybe in the first half with the half-chances that we created. The last pass today was not good enough — we always get in the right position but the last pass to each other was not good enough and I think that’s what killed us today.”
When asked to clarify his comments about United players hiding, Lukaku said: “I mean in the dressing room because some people were disappointed with the result because we expected better from ourselves.
“We know we have a lot of quality in the team but today we didn’t show it. It’s difficult for us but we have to bounce back. We have one trophy to go and chase and that’s the FA Cup.
“We want to go very far in the Champions League because that’s what a club like Manchester United needs to do and we didn’t do it today so we’re disappointed.”
Lukaku later added on Instagram that he was not criticising his teammates for anything that happened on the pitch.
“Never will I criticise my teammates! Hiding your face when you’re upset in the dressing room is normal… The result is terrible but we’re Manchester United we will bounce back for sure with your support!
“Another big game coming up time to prepare for that one! 200 Goals now in my young career but it’s time to add trophies in my career… time to work even harder.”

N’Golo Kante ‘passed out in front of shocked teammates’ before Man City trip

N’Golo Kante gave Chelsea a major health scare after fainting in front of his team mates.

Chelsea midfielder Kante passed out after Friday’s training session and was immediately attended to by doctors.

That was the reason Kante missed Chelsea’s defeat at Manchester City on Sunday as medics were initially concerned about heart problems and carried out a full check-up – which came back clear.

Kante trained normally on Monday afternoon and has been cleared to carry on as before.

Chelsea missed Kante at the Etihad but are confident there will be no further problems.

The incident was brought into sharper focus when, just hours before kick-off, Fiorentina captain Davide Astori was found dead in is hotel room having suffered a suspected cardiac arrest.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wore a black armband in memory of the player, who he coached during his time in charge of Italy.

A Chelsea doctor is said to have arrived on the scene immediately and Kante was apparently cleared to play against City, but the decision was made to take no risks after the French international felt unwell on Sunday morning.

Kante was back at training on Monday morning and suffered no further complications. He is set to be available for Chelsea’s game against Crystal Palace on Saturday and next week’s trip to Barcelona.

The 26-year-old has established himself as one of the world’s premier central midfielders after helping Leicester City to a stunning Premier League title in 2015-16.

He has featured 38 times for club and country so far this term.

Super Luis Suarez Is World’s Best Again!

The Uruguayan has put his early-season struggles behind him with a spell of fantastic form since mid-November, scoring 20 goals in his last 22 games.

Lionel Messi was left all alone. With Neymar departed in a big-money move to Paris Saint-Germain, summer signing Ousmane Dembele taking time to settle and then injured and Luis Suarez off form, it was down to the Argentine to provide the spark and score the goals for Barcelona.
Suarez was there, but not really there. Chances came and went for the Uruguayan and Barca fans grew frustrated as very few of those ended up in the back of the net – just three in 14 matches to be precise.
A knee injury in the opening league game against Betis had hindered his progress, while he probably returned too quickly as well in his eagerness to help Uruguay seal qualification for this summer’s World Cup.
In the meantime, the departure of Neymar probably hit Suarez the hardest, while the former Liverpool striker was also forced to adapt to a new position and formation following the arrival of Ernesto Valverde as coach.
His first coach at Uruguayan club Nacional, Martin Lasarte, told Goal that he believed the striker would be back to his best before long, while Valverde also backed his player. “The more he misses, the better!”he said in October. “The important thing is he is getting into the right positions. The goals will come.”
And they have. Suarez’s hat-trick in Barca’s 6-1 win over Girona at Camp Nou on Saturday means he has now netted 20 in his last 22 games for the Catalan club, including doubles against Leganes, Deportivo La Coruna, Real Sociedad and Betis.
It is a scoring streak that has helped Barca advance to the final of the Copa del Rey for the fourth season in a row, while keeping up their unbeaten run in La Liga, which now stands at 25 matches.
Now in his fourth season at Camp Nou, Suarez surpassed the 100-goal mark in La Liga recently too and has 144 in 183 in all competitions since signing from Liverpool in the summer of 2014.
A treble winner in his debut campaign under Luis Enrique in 2014-15, the Uruguayan’s return to form will give Barca hope of another triple triumph this time as Valverde’s side challenge on three fronts.
Curiously, Suarez has yet to convert in the Champions League this season, despite featuring in all seven games for the Blaugrana so far in the competition. However, he is confident Barca can advance after Messi’s goal sealed a 1-1 draw at Chelsea in the teams’ last-16 first leg in London last week.
“It was a beneficial goal for the second leg to have more space at the Camp Nou,” Suarez said. “Our strength is being better at home, that’s why it was important to score. Now they have to try to score at the Camp Nou and we’ll have more space.”
So too will Suarez and on current form, that spells danger for Chelsea, even though goals have been harder to come by for the Uruguayan in Europe this term.
Asked on Twitter on Sunday who he thought was the world’s best striker at the moment, former Manchester United and England defender Gary Neville said Suarez.
It is a far cry from his early-season struggles and Neville is right: on this form, there is no finer centre-forward than Barca’s brilliant No. 9. And alongside an inspired Messi, the 31-year-old now looks ready to make more history at Camp Nou this season.

Messi Would Be The Best In The English Premier League – Fabregas

The Blues midfielder has hailed his former team-mate and friend ahead of his side’s clash with Barcelona in the Champions League.

Cesc Fabregas is looking forward to facing his good friend Lionel Messi when Chelsea welcome Barcelona to Stamford Bridge in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The last-16 tie will be the first time Fabregas has played against Barcelona for Chelsea, but he came up against Messi three times during his Arsenal days.
He also spent three years alongside Messi in Barcelona’s first team, with the pair having been close friends since they were 12 years old growing up in the Catalan club’s La Masia academy. Messi and Fabregas went to Ibiza together last summer and the Chelsea midfielder attended his wedding to Antonella Roccuzzo.
Messi has sporadically been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past and Fabregas believes the Argentine would be the best player in England, even in his 30s, if he ever chose to move.
“Without a doubt, he would still be the best [player in England],” Fabregas told Goal before adding that he has not spoken much to Messi about Tuesday’s match.
“We all want to live it from inside. These games require less talking and to focus on playing and giving all we have. Of course [it means a lot to play Barcelona]. To me, and to all players in the world, including the ones who were born there.
“But, whether you like Barcelona or not, the ‘special’ word can be understood in many ways and, as a footballer who likes to live great moments, you know Barcelona offers it, both playing for them or against them. It is going to be a fascinating round and I am sure we are all going to enjoy the games.”
The 30-year-old is likely to start in midfielder against his old club, who go into the Champions League tie with a seven-point lead in La Liga, while they have lost just once in all competitions since August.
Fabregas concedes that Chelsea are not favourites to progress to the quarter-finals and also revealed how the players found out about their exciting draw.
“We were training. I think it was [Thibaut] Courtois who found out through the kitman or the goalkeeping coach, he started shouting that we got Barca,” he added. “Then, we just got busy with the training again, that’s how we found out. It is an exciting tie.
“They are one of the best teams in the world but we are the last champions of the Premier League, we deserve respect.
“We deserve to give it a go. To try and play two good games against them. It has happened in the past. In football, never say never.
“Anything can happen and we have to take our chances. We have to create them and take them. That will be very important for us.”

Anthony Martial Loses Temper, Hits Manchester United’s Backroom Staff With Bottle

All appears to be unwell with France forward, Martial who has been reported to be turning violent after being substituted during a high-profile match.

Manchester United forward, Anthony Martial reportedly lost his temper after a disappointing display against Tottenham in the Premier League and accidentally hit a staff member with a bottle of water.
Martial has struggled to build on his excellent start to the season and failed to make an impact in Manchester United’s 2-0 defeat to Spurs at Wembley.
A source at Old Trafford told The Sun, UK, that the player’s frustration boiled after the match, leading to a fit of rage.
He was said to have sent a water bottle flying, which hit a member of United’s backroom team.
The Frenchman had left the pitch angry after a poor performance and was furious in the Wembley dressing room afterwards.
He was also involved in a bust-up with manager, Jose Mourinho leading to his subsequently bench role in the following league match against Huddersfield.
Manchester United take on Sevilla in the first leg of their round-of-16 Champions League encounter in Spain on Wednesday.
