2 Top Principal Officers Fired, As Governor Ayodele Fayose’s Continuity Agenda Suffers Another Major Set Back

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has sacked two Board Chairmen, with immediate effect.

They are the Chairmen of the State Teaching Service Commission, Chief Gabriel Falayi, and that of the Governing Council of the College of Education, Ikere Ekiti, Prof. Babajide Alo.

The sacks came barely a few minutes after Fayose’s continuity agenda seemed to have suffered another major setback, as the former Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr. Segun Adewunmi, dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the July 14, Governorship election in the State.

Recall, that Segun was impeached last month, following alleged disloyalty to the Governor.

He has been having a running battle with Governor Fayose, over his alleged support for Prince Dayo Adeyeye, who contested against the Deputy Governor, Kolapo Olusola, in the PDP primaries, and has since defected to the APC.

He was suspended at the plenary, following allegations of gross misconduct, anti-party activities, sleeping on duty, absenteeism, and violence against colleagues in the House.

The suspension was based on a recommendation by the Ad-hoc Committee set up to investigate the various allegations against him.
