Trump’s new ‘Cadillac One’ presidential state car is reportedly equipped with a number of defence systems and is built to withstand an attack, featuring doors and windows which can repel armour piercing bullets, and is reportedly stocked with bottles of the president’s blood type in case he is injured
The car weighs in at a staggering eight tonnes, is bulletproof and has been dubbed ‘The Safest Car in the World’.
The armoured doors are so heavy that they are almost physically impossible to open from the inside, and only the driver’s side window can open.
Run flat tyres will maintain their structural integrity if they are punctured thanks to a solid core, the Times reports.
The one-of-a-kind car carries stocks of the president’s blood type.
It also has oxygen tanks in case of a gas attack.
Also on board is a life support machine to help anyone who is critically injured.
Armed Secret Service members travel in the car with the president, while ‘The Beast’ is also accompanied by a number of support vehicles carrying extra guards.
The president’s car is driven by a highly-skilled driver who is trained in a number of anti-terror and protective manoeuvres to keep the president safe.
‘Cadillac One’ is fitted with a state-of-the-art and secure communications system that Trump will be able to use to conduct regular business or even oversee an emergency when he is on the move from the White House or Air Force One.
The 2017 Cadillac has been in development for more than two years and will replace a fleet of around a dozen nearly identical limousines that were used by former President Barack Obama , Autoweek reports.
The new car does not feature many changes in terms of its exterior design and interior layout, and is similar to the 2009 limousine that entered service under Obama.
The passenger compartment has conference-style seating for five, with two seats up front for the highly-skilled driver and a passenger.
Measuring 18ft in length, the car reportedly has a top speed of 60mph and a 6.6-litre V8 engine.
