Ronaldo equals his best Real Madrid scoring streak

Real Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo on Wednesday equalled his previous best streak of consecutive scoring matches for the Spanish capital club after he returned to Lo Blancos’ starting line-up against Athletic Bilbao.

Ronaldo’s scored a late backheel to save the club’s blushes after Inaki Williams gave Athletic Club a first-half lead at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

The effort goal means the Portuguese forward has now scored in his twelfth successive match, in which time period produced 22 goals.

Wednesday’s goal was his 24th in LaLiga this campaign, this leaves him just five behind Lionel Messi in the Pichichi race and, with five matches left to play, he’s on pace to keep catching the Argentine.

Ronaldo’s scoring streak included strikes against the following teams: Real Sociedad (three), PSG (two), Real Betis (one), Deportivo Alaves (two), Getafe (two), PSG (one), Eibar (two), Girona (four), Juventus (two), Atletico Madrid (one), Juventus (one) and Athletic Club (one).
